  • 09:45 – 10:00      Introduction to the Joaquin project (Edward Roekens, Head of department Air & Joaquin Project Manager, VMM) 
  • 10:00 – 10:25      Air quality in Europe  (Valentin Foltescu, Air & Climate Change Programme, EMA (tbc)) 
  • 10:25 – 11:15      Air quality policy in Europe & the revision of the EU air quality directive (2013)
    • An overview by the European Commission (Scott Brockett, European Commission DG-ENV)
    • Points of Interest in the Netherlands (Klaas Krijgsheld, Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & the Environment) 
    • Points of Interest in Belgium (Frans Fierens, Belgian Interregional Environment Agency)
  • 11:15 – 11:40      Coffee break
  • 11:40 – 12:05      Soot & Climate change (Bart Verheggen, Air Quality & Climate change, ECN)
  • 12:05 – 12:30      Combustion derived particulate matter: hazard and metrics (Flemming Cassee, Dep. Head Centre for Environmental Health, RIVM)
